Queen’s Award for C-Kore Systems

Following the success of winning the Innovation & Technology Award at Subsea UK’s awards ceremony in Aberdeen in February, C-Kore are celebrating again, having been honoured with a Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, in the Innovation category.

Now in its 53rd year, the Queen’s Award for Enterprise is the most prestigious business award in the UK recognising outstanding achievement.  This year C-Kore is one of only 61 companies across the UK who have been commended for their contribution to innovation.

Tim Overfield, Managing Director, commented “We are delighted that our work in finding innovative ways to support the Subsea Industry has been recognised in such a prestigious way.  What is most pleasing with this Award is that it not only acknowledges the quality and unique nature of our products, but also how we are changing the industry’s view on how subsea testing is conducted.  With C-Kore technology it is no longer necessary to use time consuming, and costly, downlines or platform-led testing.”

Tim continued “So far 2019 has been a tremendous year for us.  Having already won the Subsea UK 2019 Innovation and Technology Award, we have now received a royal seal of approval.  We are delighted that C-Kore tools are now considered a ‘must-have’ when installing, fault finding and decommissioning oil fields”

C-Kore will receive their award shortly and later in the year will celebrate with other winners at a reception being held at Buckingham Palace

C-Kore Systems crowned winner at Subsea UK Awards

C-Kore Systems was delighted to accept the Innovation & Technology Award at Subsea UK’s awards ceremony last night in Aberdeen. The awards dinner recognises companies and individuals who lead the way in Britain’s subsea sector.

Greg Smith, General Manager of C-Kore Systems commented, “It’s gratifying to receive such amazing recognition for all the hard work the C-Kore team have put into developing and promoting new subsea technology.  C-Kore tools have really taken off since we originally released the Cable Monitor in 2015, followed by the subsea TDR and now our new Sensor Monitor.  It looks like 2019 is going to be a very busy year as we continue to solve our customers problems by saving them time and money and simplifying subsea testing.”

NEW C-Kore Sensor Monitor Tool increases safety around well-heads

C-Kore Systems are pleased to announce a new subsea testing tool, the C-Kore Sensor Monitor. The Sensor Monitor can be used in decommissioning, fault-finding and construction campaigns to provide feedback from subsea sensors, such as wellhead pressures and temperatures, even when a subsea datalink is not available.

During decommissioning or construction, the C-Kore Sensor Monitor can be used to ensure well head pressures are within safe limits for divers and prevent unintended release of hydrocarbons into the environment. For fault-finding campaigns, it is deployed to diagnose faulty sensors without using downlines and prevent unnecessary and expensive sensor change-outs.

The C-Kore Sensor Monitor allows for fast, automated reading of subsea sensors. It supports an extensive range of pressure, temperature, positional and other sensors, and does not require any subsea infrastructure or downlines to operate. The design of the Sensor Monitor follows C-Kore’s principles for all their tools: make subsea testing simple.

Greg Smith, General Manager for C-Kore Systems commented, “We were approached by an existing customer, a major operator who uses our C-Kore Cable Monitors, with a requirement to test well-head sensors. We developed the Sensor Monitor to provide a simple, stand-alone solution for reading subsea sensors, even if the SCM is not present or communicating. Obviously, this is also the perfect tool for fault-finding sensors. It can be used when the operator does not know if the fault is in the sensor, EFL or SCM and doesn’t want to change-out a sensor unnecessarily.”

C-Kore Systems are showcasing their new C-Kore Sensor Monitor at Subsea Expo next week in Aberdeen, where we are also nominated for the Innovation & Technology Award. Come visit us on stand 37!

C-Kore Systems launches new in-line testing tools

C-Kore Systems are proud to announce a new ‘in-line’ version of their C-Kore subsea testing tools. The streamlined design makes it possible to connect into hard-to access equipment, such as cylindrical UTAs or high-density connector layouts. Eight of the new units have just been delivered for a fault-finding operation in the North Sea with a major operator.

C-Kore’s Subsea testing tools save customers time and money on new installation projects and fault-finding operations by simplifying the subsea testing process. The compact Cable Monitor tests the health of electrical lines by measuring the insulation resistance and continuity. The Subsea TDR identifies faults along electrical lines with a precision of 10cm.

Greg Smith, General Manager for C-Kore Systems commented: “Many of our customers have access issues with their subsea equipment. There just isn’t enough space. In the past we’ve resorted to extension whips but this introduces another variable in the measurements. With our new in-line units we can now plug directly into the equipment even when clearance is tight, ensuring accurate readings. Our philosophy is to overcome obstacles with simple easy-to-use products, which is exactly what the new design does.”

C-Kore Systems will be presenting and exhibiting at the Subsea Controls Down Under conference in Perth 23rd-24th October. Please stop by if you are attending. For further information on our innovative subsea testing technology, please visit our website, www.c-kore.com.

C-Kore’s 100th Subsea Testing Unit Deployed

C-Kore Systems, has recently celebrated the deployment of its 100th C-Kore unit. This milestone was reached on a fault-finding campaign with a major oil company in the North Sea.

The units have simplified subsea testing in over 30 different fields worldwide and helped both major oil companies and their installation contractors on installation/construction and fault-finding campaigns. The easy-to-use units save customers time and money by considerably reducing the time needed for electrical testing, providing quick and accurate insulation resistance and continuity measurements of electrical lines.

Over 20 new assets have been installed subsea worldwide. The low-voltage testing technology even allows safe measurement of sensitive electronic equipment and SCMs. The compact size of the units allows for quick movement through subsea fields in fault-finding operations, locating over 30 faults to date. The time savings are significant with one customer even saving 5 vessel days in a single campaign!

Tim Overfield, managing director of C-Kore commented, “This success is a great testament to our game changing technology and hard work. Keeping the units simple to use, while giving quick and accurate test results saves our customers a lot of money. The fact that our customers repeatedly come back with new deployment opportunities for our technology really proves their added value.”
